  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g granulated sugar
  • 220 g cold unsalted butter
  • 1 kg apples (Pink Lady, Royal Gala or Fuji)
  • 190 g brown sugar
  • 75 g unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream (or preferred flavor)

Instructions

  1. For the crust, mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add cold water gradually until combined. Knead gently, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. For the filling, peel and slice apples. In a pan over medium heat, melt butter; add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water. Cook until apples are tender.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out chilled dough; place in pie dish and fill with apple mixture. Top with almond flour and another layer of dough if desired.
  4. Brush with beaten egg mixed with cda agua and sprinkle brown sugar on top. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm topped with vanilla ice cream.
