  • 80 g brown sugar
  • 90 g cold unsalted butter
  • 400 g dried figs
  • 1 cup water
  • 170 g cream cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 40 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into a greased baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, combine dried figs, water, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Boil until figs soften (10-15 minutes).
  3. Blend cream cheese, vanilla extract, egg, and sugar until smooth.
  4. Spread fig mixture over the crust and pour cream cheese mixture on top; swirl gently with a knife.
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes or until set and lightly golden. Cool completely before slicing.
