  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) active dry yeast or instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons (10g) salt
  • 1 3/4 cups (415ml) warm water
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves
  • Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Combine the yeast mixture with the dry ingredients and stir until it forms a sticky dough.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth; place in an oiled bowl and let rise covered until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  5. After rising, punch down the dough and shape it on a greased baking sheet; let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Drizzle olive oil over the dough, sprinkle with rosemary and coarse salt.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown; allow to cool slightly before slicing.
