- 1 cup warm whole milk (240g)
- 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup sugar (70g)
- 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (490g)
- 1 large egg
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (85g)
- 1/4 cup salted butter (57g)
- 2–3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Activate the yeast by stirring warm milk and yeast in a bowl until bubbles form.
- Combine all remaining roll ingredients into the bowl and mix until combined.
- Knead the dough on a clean surface for about 15 minutes until smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl for approximately 90 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into 12 equal balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and brush rolls with an egg wash made from egg yolk mixed with milk.
- Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the garlic butter by melting butter and sautéing garlic; brush over hot rolls just after baking.
