  • 1 cup warm whole milk (240g)
  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar (70g)
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (490g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (85g)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter (57g)
  • 23 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 12 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by stirring warm milk and yeast in a bowl until bubbles form.
  2. Combine all remaining roll ingredients into the bowl and mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a clean surface for about 15 minutes until smooth.
  4. Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl for approximately 90 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the dough into 12 equal balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and brush rolls with an egg wash made from egg yolk mixed with milk.
  7. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the garlic butter by melting butter and sautéing garlic; brush over hot rolls just after baking.
