A quick, savory side dish featuring tender mushrooms and caramelized onions sautéed in rich garlic butter. Perfect for steaks, chicken, pasta, or as a comforting vegetarian bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cups sliced mushrooms

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • 34 garlic cloves, minced

  • Salt & black pepper

  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add onions and cook until soft and lightly golden.

  3. Stir in mushrooms and sauté until browned and tender.

  4. Add garlic, salt, and pepper; cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  5. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Avoid overcrowding the pan to help the mushrooms brown.

  • Add a splash of soy sauce or balsamic vinegar for extra depth.

  • Great served over steak, mashed potatoes, or toast.
