  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • Juice of ½ lime (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onions until translucent (about 3 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  2. Add ground turkey to the skillet; cook until browned and no longer pink (about 5-6 minutes).
  3. Stir in smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder (if desired), salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add sliced bell peppers; cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly softened yet crunchy.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, tomato paste, and soy sauce; stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes until flavors meld.
  6. Off the heat, squeeze fresh lime juice over the dish and garnish with cilantro or parsley before serving.
