Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by measuring them out.
  2. In a bowl, mix granulated sugar and almond flour. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form before gradually adding the sugar mixture.
  3. Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  4. Let the piped macarons rest for 30 minutes before baking at preheated temperature until they have risen and formed feet.
  5. For the buttercream filling, whip together softened butter, sifted confectioners' sugar, peppermint extract, and milk until fluffy.
  6. Once cooled, pair macaron shells and fill with peppermint buttercream before sandwiching them together.
