  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ¾ pound lean ground beef
  • ½ cup minced onion
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (6.5 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 16 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown ground turkey, ground beef, onion, and garlic.
  2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings; simmer covered for 1.5 hours.
  3. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and rinse.
  4. Mix ricotta with an egg and remaining parsley in a bowl.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan; repeat layers ending with cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake another 25 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
