Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Apple Filling
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Topping
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the Apple Filling
  1. In a bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
Prepare the Fritter Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg, then add milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
Combine and Bake
  1. Gently fold the apple filling into the batter until evenly distributed.
  2. Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each fritter.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Serve
  1. Drizzle the topping over the warm fritters and serve immediately.
