Cooking the Sausage and Broccoli
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for another 2 minutes.
Cooking the Orzo
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Add the orzo pasta and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
Finishing Touches
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
