Ingredients
  

Pasta and Chicken
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or any pasta of choice
  • 1 lb chicken breast diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking chicken
Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp honey for sweetness
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Topping
  • 1 cup bread crumbs for crunch
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese grated

Method
 

Cook Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook Chicken
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
Make Cheese Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in cheddar cheese, cream cheese, honey, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
Combine and Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, chicken, and cheese sauce. Mix well.
  2. Transfer to a baking dish. In a small bowl, mix bread crumbs and parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the top of the mac and cheese.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.
