  • 12 slices Thinly sliced beef ham
  • 12 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese or provolone or gouda
  • to taste Dijon or whole grain mustard optional
  • 1 Egg wash mixture of beaten egg and water or non-dairy alternative

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface if using store-bought dough. For homemade, roll to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  3. Cut the dough into triangles with a base of about 4 inches wide.
  4. On each triangle, place a slice of beef ham and a slice of cheese. If using mustard, spread a thin layer on top of the ham.
  5. Start from the wide end of the triangle and roll towards the point, tucking the edges as you roll to keep the filling secure.
  6. Place the rolled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
