Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/3 cup Swerve Brown packed
  • 1 tbsp coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Frosting
  • 2 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered Swerve Sweetener or powdered erythritol
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla for frosting
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • water to thin, as needed

Method
 

Baking Scones
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix almond flour, Swerve Brown, coconut flour, cocoa powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine cream cheese, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Add to dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface, shape into a disc, and cut into wedges.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
Making Frosting
  1. For frosting, mix cream cheese, powdered Swerve, vanilla, and heavy cream. Add water to achieve desired consistency.
  2. Cool scones, then drizzle with frosting before serving.
