Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably 80/20 for flavor
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce for added umami
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce adjust based on spice preference
For the Bowl
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown rice
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers any color
  • 1 cup shredded carrots for crunch
  • 1 cup sliced green onions for garnish
  • 1/4 cup hot honey store-bought or homemade

Method
 

Cook the Rice
  1. Prepare rice according to package instructions in a rice cooker.
  2. Once cooked, fluff with a fork and set aside.
Prepare the Beef
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef.
  2. Season with salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and hot sauce.
  3. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.
Assemble the Bowl
  1. In a serving bowl, add a portion of cooked rice.
  2. Top with the cooked ground beef, chopped bell peppers, and shredded carrots.
  3. Drizzle with hot honey and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes
