  • 1 lb ground turkey preferably lean
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for cooking
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 1 cup bell pepper diced
Sauce Ingredients
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil for flavor
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar for acidity
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
Serving Suggestions
  • 4 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 2 cups green onions sliced, for garnish

Method
 

Cook the Turkey
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, honey, and rice vinegar.
  2. Pour the sauce over the cooked turkey mixture and stir well to combine.
  3. Add the diced bell pepper and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the pepper is tender.
Serve
  1. Serve the ground turkey mixture over cooked rice.
  2. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
