Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in sour cream and mashed bananas until smooth.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in walnuts.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting Instructions
  1. For frosting, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  2. Assemble the cake with frosting between layers and on top.
