  • 4 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs Trim excess fat
Marinade
  • 1/2 cup honey Preferably raw honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low sodium recommended
  • 4 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Optional for extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons green onions Chopped for garnish

Method

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Reserve half of the marinade for later use.
Marinate the Chicken
  1. Place chicken thighs in a large resealable bag or bowl and pour the marinade over them.
  2. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Cook the Chicken
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil.
  2. Remove chicken from the marinade, shaking off excess, and place in the hot skillet skin-side down.
  3. Cook for about 6-7 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken and pour the reserved marinade over the top.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for another 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
Serve
  1. Remove chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
  2. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
