Ingredients

Chicken Marinade
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
Orange Sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp grated orange zest
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Frying
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds toasted
  • 2 tbsp green onions sliced

Method

Marinate Chicken
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Prepare Orange Sauce
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, orange zest, and cornstarch mixture until smooth.
Fry Chicken
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken pieces in batches and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Combine Chicken and Sauce
  1. In the same wok, drain excess oil and add the prepared orange sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
Serve
  1. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice.
