Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree or freshly cooked pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and cloves.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Bake the Bread
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
