Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a stand mixer, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead on medium speed for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
First Rise
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Rolls
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long roll about 8 inches long.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
