Ingredients
  

Cauliflower
  • 1 head cauliflower cut into florets
Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water cold
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup for vegan
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 green onions sliced for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Cauliflower
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, water, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
  3. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Place the battered cauliflower on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the Cauliflower
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.
  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.
Combine and Serve
  1. Once the cauliflower is done baking, remove it from the oven and toss it in the sauce until well coated.
  2. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
